Our Creative Corner challenge - Have Yourself a Merry LITTLE Christmas

At Our Creative Corner,  the challenge was for ATC's or ATB's (Altered Trading Cards or Blocks)  I was making a few ATC's with papers from Whimsey Stamps and leftover snowflakes using Festive Flurry stamps and dies from Stampin' Up.  I added Scripty Joy from Lawn Fawn.

The reason for Christmas.

One of my favorite blogs to peruse daily, Linda's, who is utterly amazing and a member of Spellbinders  International Ambassadors team and also has her own Facebook group,  I Love My Die Cutting Machine.  A few weeks back she used Spellbinders Labels 40 in one of her cards.  I fell in love with them.  So I ordered the Decorative Elements set.    I used them on this card I made with an older stamp from Embossing Arts (probably had this stamp for 10 years or so)  that I just love because it shows the reason for Christmas.

White on White Challenge

At the  Lawnscaping Blog, the challenge this week was White on White.  I really wanted to play along, but wasn't sure what I was going to do.  Yesterday I ran to my local stamp store, Stampadoodle and they know I love Lawn Fawn stamps and Lawn Cut dies.  One of the girls and I went to look at what was in and talk about our favorites and  they had the lawn cut die in for the goodie bag and also the word Joy.  Yep, bought them both.

So this morning, I made the goodie bag.  The goodie bag die is easy to use and the lines are easy to fold on.

I grabbed some snowflake stamps from the sets Critters in the Arctic and Deck the Halls and embossed them with Winter White embossing powder.  I used some glitter glue on the joy die cut just to give it a little glitter.  I tied it with some white ribbon.  These are perfect size to have in the tree for small presents.  I have also decided to use these to make Valentines goodies for the 3 yr. old nephew to give to his preschool classmates.

Everything is

                               fun with you.

A few weeks back I picked up the Lawn Fawn set Love You S'more at my local stamp store.  I hadn't really used it until I saw the challenge on the  Lawnscaping Blog to use Watercoloring in your challenge.

I used my watercolor pencils, after I found them on my daughters art desk and colored the background on 90# watercolor paper.  Made a mask for the moon and then used a paintbrush to blend the pencils.  I cut the banner out using SU Banners framelits dies.  I cut out the birdies and the limb and added them to the watercolored banner.  I then took a blue piece of paper and used the stars and whirlies from the Love You S'more set with Versamark embossing ink to make the background.  I ran the ribbon around the blue background paper, then sewed the banner to it and mounted it to my card.  I colored the moon in and then added sparkles to it and the blue area using a Sakura Clear Star gelly roll pen.

The inside is stamped using the fun with you stamp.

Mini Puppy Cards

The current challenge at the  Lawnscaping Challenge blog  is for Mini cards.  I made these 3x3 cards with matching envelopes using Lawn Fawn's Critters at the Dog Park stamps and dies.  I have been using this set to make a bunch of cards for a friend who runs Rescued Hearts Northwest.  They are a "dedicated animal rescue group committed to saving and improving the lives of shelter dogs.  Since there are 4, yes 4 dogs that live at our house, I cannot help them by taking in extra dogs so I am making these cards for them to use for their organization.  Please check them out and give them a like on their facebook page.

Lawnscaping Challenge # 79

Finally spending a little time making some cards around working for our company, doing the paper work, the scheduling and even working some clean up jobs, watching the two nephews and doing some quilting, camping and taking care of my house.  I saw that   Lawnscaping Challenge had a new challenge to use a new technique that you have never done before.  Hmm, after stamping for over 20 years, what haven't I done.  hehe  I looked around online and just decided to do a window card.  I kind of just made it all up as I went along. (I have never seen this before but it may be out there)
Card front

I took the craft dies from the sets Year Four and Winter Sparrows, using the bird from Year Four and the limb from Winter Sparrows.  First thing I did was use some different Washi Tapes to cover a piece of white cardstock and then cut out the limb.

I then took a blue piece of paoer and cut three birds out.  I should have used my card front to at the same time so I would have cut through both layers.  Next time!!  I lined the blue paper up and cut through the card front so the birds were cut out.  I then layered some clear window plastic between the blue and the card front.

I cut out 3 of the birdies from white cardstock and colored them in and popped them on pop dots.
I lined them up on the back of the front of the card and folded the back over and they stuck to the inside of the card.  I stamped the limb again under the birdies.

Inside of card.

It wasn't as perfect as I like, but it ended up pretty cute in person.

Ready for a little camping!!

We have been so busy I haven't had any time to update my blog.  I am finishing baby quilts and my Civil War miniature quilt is almost done, just hand sewing the binding when I have time to sit down.  I was really excited to get this stamp set from Unity Stamp Co. called Destination Happiness.  We got a travel trailer last month and at the end of the month we are going for our first trip out with it.  The picture isn't very good as the sun is shining today and I really wanted to get this in the mail.

We have always loved camping, but we have always used a tent and so when we had the chance to get this beautiful trailer, we jumped at the chance.  Since the girls are pretty well grown up, it is mainly for Keith and I.   She is now in our backyard and I am slowly getting stuff for her.
My card today is going to go with today's Unity's Friends with Flair.

Back after a tad break . . . . . .

I am back to making cards after a tad break.  I sat down the other night and made this card based on the sketch at Deconstructed Sketch.  I used Thoughtful Bouquet Stamp of the week from Unity Stamp Co.
I colored the image with my Copics and then used some paper flowers that my wonderful husband got me for Christmas.  The background paper is shiny and doesn't show up in the picture that well.  I am entering this in Deconstructed Sketch #133 and also Unity's Friends With Flair.
